The Terms That Apply When You Book a Short Course

These terms apply to every short course booked and paid for on this website. Reading them before paying takes about five minutes.

Who African Greeneurs Is

This website is run by African Greeneurs (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2015/394877/07, a private company registered in South Africa and part of the Enterprising Africa Regional Network (EARN) group. In these terms, "African Greeneurs" means that company, and "the learner" means the person who books a course, or the person a seat is booked for.

Accreditation

African Greeneurs (Pty) Ltd is accredited by the AgriSETA ETQA as an education and training provider in agriculture (provider code AGRI/c prov/1125/19, ETQA ID 694), from 30 June 2026 until 30 June 2028, for the National Certificates in Plant Production (NQF levels 1 to 4) and Horticulture (NQF level 2) in its accredited scope.

The short courses on this website are skills courses. Completing a short course does not by itself award a National Certificate or another registered qualification. A course page states when a course awards a certificate of completion.

The Courses

Each course page describes the course, how it is delivered (online, on-site at the Centurion training farm, or both), its dates and its price. Online courses run as live sessions, with course material on the African Greeneurs learner site (edu.africangreeneurs.com). Where a course page shows session times as "to be confirmed", African Greeneurs emails the confirmed times to every learner before the course starts.

African Greeneurs may change a facilitator, or make small changes to course content, to keep a course accurate and up to date. A change to a course's dates or delivery is handled as set out under "Changes by African Greeneurs" below.

Prices and Payment

Prices are in South African rand (ZAR) and are the full price per seat. The amount shown at checkout is the total charged on this website: no booking or card fee is added. Where a price is shown with a higher price crossed out, the lower price is the one charged.

Payment is made at checkout by card or instant EFT through PayFast or Stitch, or by bank transfer (EFT) into African Greeneurs' business account. Card and instant EFT payments are made on PayFast's or Stitch's own secure payment pages: African Greeneurs never sees or stores card numbers.

The price shown when a booking is made is the price paid for that booking, even if the price later changes.

Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed once payment is received: straight away for card and instant EFT, and for a bank transfer once the money reflects in African Greeneurs' account (transfers from another bank can take up to two working days). African Greeneurs then emails a confirmation with the booking reference (for example AG-261016-K7QM). That email is the learner's record of the booking, and African Greeneurs sends a copy again on request.

For online courses, the learner also receives login details for the learner site by email. Login details are personal and may not be shared.

A seat is only held once it is paid for. If a date fills up before a bank transfer reflects, African Greeneurs refunds the payment in full.

Cancellations and Refunds

A learner who cancels within 7 days of paying, and before the course starts, receives a full refund (the cooling-off right under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act). After that, bookings are not refunded, except as the Consumer Protection Act requires. The details are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy at www.africangreeneurs.com/refund-policy, which forms part of these terms.

What happens when a learner misses a session is set out in the Missed Session Policy at www.africangreeneurs.com/missed-session-policy.

Changes by African Greeneurs

If African Greeneurs cancels or moves a course date, it tells the learner by email as soon as it can and refunds the learner in full.

Learners Under 18

A learner under 18 must be booked by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on the learner's behalf.

Conduct and Safety

Learners treat facilitators and other learners with respect. On-site, learners follow the facilitator's safety instructions and the farm's rules, including any instructions on protective clothing and on handling equipment, chemicals and animals.

African Greeneurs may remove a learner from a session or a course for serious or repeated misconduct, or for putting other people's safety at risk, after a warning where that is reasonable.

Course Materials

Course notes, videos, presentations and other materials belong to African Greeneurs or the people who made them. Learners may use them for their own learning and their own farming. They may not be copied, shared, sold or published, and live sessions may not be recorded, without African Greeneurs' written permission.

Responsibility

Courses teach practical farming and business skills. Results on a learner's own farm or business depend on many things outside African Greeneurs' control, such as weather, markets, inputs and how the skills are applied, so no particular yield, income or outcome is promised.

Nothing in these terms limits any right a learner has under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or any other law that cannot be excluded. Within those limits, African Greeneurs is not responsible for indirect loss (such as lost profits), or for loss of or damage to learners' personal belongings at the training farm unless it was caused by African Greeneurs' negligence.

Personal Information

African Greeneurs uses learners' personal information to manage bookings and run courses, as explained in the privacy notice at www.africangreeneurs.com/privacy, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Questions and Complaints

Questions and complaints go to info@africangreeneurs.com or +27 12 669 3012, quoting the booking reference. African Greeneurs replies within 5 working days and works with the learner to resolve the matter.

A complaint that is not resolved can be referred to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (www.cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission (www.thencc.gov.za).

Changes and Governing Law

African Greeneurs may update these terms. The version on this page when a booking is paid for is the one that applies to that booking, and the date it was last updated is shown below.

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
